About the Founder
Elan8 is founded by Jeroen Vennegoor op Nijhuis, an R&D professional and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in system architecture, Model-Based Design, and software development for complex cyber-physical systems.
System Architecture Experience
Jeroen has served as system architect at multiple companies, including Vanderlande, Sonion, Bosch Rexroth, and Philips. At Vanderlande, he was product owner and system architect for a team of Model-Based Design engineers, where he set up new models, defined system structure and interfaces, and led the development of controls software for baggage handling systems deployed worldwide.
Multidisciplinary Expertise
With a mechanical engineering foundation combined with advanced software development skills, Jeroen brings a unique perspective to cyber-physical system design. His experience spans hardware, firmware, and software—from embedded systems and robotics to Model-Based Design methodologies and production software development. This multidisciplinary background enables him to understand and reconstruct complex system architectures across all layers.
Proven Track Record
Throughout his career, Jeroen has worked on complex systems including robotic vacuum cleaners, baggage handling systems, hearing aid components, and motion control systems. He has extensive experience with stakeholder management, requirements engineering, and bringing new methodologies from concept to production—exactly the skills needed to help teams understand and improve their system architecture.
